Transfixx by ROKK EBONY, GLEN WAVERLEY, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA for 7Hues Hair

Drawing inspiration from numerous diverse genres, Elena’s unconventional collection Transfixx channels a time in 1960’s London, where the era of modernists began. Transfixx is a subculture of all things Elena has a deep passion for; art, music and particularly fashion.
Elena has taken cues from designers such as Gucci, particularly their latest SS16 campaign, which embodies modernist high-end fashion of the 1960’s. Pairing this with inspiration from Vivienne Westwood’s new wave and modern punk designs, Elena feels more is certainly more when it comes to her collection, “Transfixx”.
For the photography, Elena wanted to capture the premise and individuality of unsuspecting portraits. “I didn’t want each model to have the same expression, I wanted to capture their personality and let them move organically”.
Elena envisioned the overall look to be over-saturated, raw and contrasting. Playing with a mix of blue and red lighting the shadow and highlights allowed Elena to tailor to each model and their particular look. The makeup was understated but precise, with each model having an ostentatious feature that contrastingly complimented each models individual look.
Each of these individual elements helped Elena bring together her vision of a medley of chaos.
